A woman who has come to be known as the ‘cleaning fairy’ has been sentenced to a year of probation for breaking into a home and cleaning it. Personally, I would have appreciated the act, though the $75 bill she left written on a napkin might have blown any good feelings.
Susan Warren, 53, of Elyria, Ohio has cleaning businesses, and loves it so much that she sometimes breaks into homes, cleans them, then leaves a bill with her telephone number. The Associated Press reports that Warren broke into a home on Dover Center Road, washed the dishes, dusted, ran the sweeper, and took out the trash, then left the homeowner, who was asleep upstairs, a handwritten bill.
The Westlake Patch reports that when the homeowner called Warren, she admitted cleaning the house because she needed money. When the police called her later, she said she does this kind of thing all the time and hung up the phone.
Warren was charged with felony burglary, and taken to jail in May of this year. This week, a Cleveland judge sentenced her to one year of probation.
